Born in Brikama, The Gambia in 1975, to Alhagie Malamini Jobarteh and Yankoui Kouyate, a younger brother to Tata Dinding Jobarteh. Pa started to play the kora at the age of 6 years, first performing in the UK at WOMAD, Reading and in Buckingham Palace, aged just 12. Pa has since played all over the world, from close to home in Senegal and Guinea Bissau, and as far as the USA and Australia.
